Multichannel computational camera for AutoID applications


Objective

With computational imaging the capabilities of cameras and other imaging devices can be substantially extended. With this new technique images are captured and processed using digital computation instead of optical processes.


The impact

In the research project new concepts (e.g. lensless imaging, light field camera) will be applied to imaging devices such as bar code readers and machine vision instruments. Methods that were initially developed for coherent light will be extended to partially inchoherent illumination. Furthermore the optical design of prototypes will be part of the research task.
